We had the opportunity to speak at UCB Japan about a “startup-style way of working” to drive innovation.
Even in the pharmaceutical industry, there is a growing need to move more like startups—working in an agile manner, experimenting with small steps and learning quickly as we move forward. At the same time, the essence of agility is not about making sweeping transformations overnight, but about changing the small actions we take today.
In the pharmaceutical industry, innovation is no longer limited to research and development. It is increasingly important in areas such as customer experience, digital transformation, and the use of AI.
In an era of rising uncertainty, these changes are essential if we are to continue increasing the value delivered to patients and healthcare professionals.
It was also a great learning experience for us to have discussions with the team at UCB Japan, who are already taking steps toward these changes.
